How we create handmade leather trays
I take pride in using premium sourced hides from a highly regarded tannery in the USA. I carefully select thick 12-14 oz. leather, ensuring durability and quality in every piece. Our established relationship with the tannery allows us to consistently obtain the finest leather, delivering exceptional products, allowing you to experience our superior craftsmanship.
The leather hides typically measure 24 square feet and are placed on a table where we meticulously cut them to remove any imperfections while preserving their natural beauty. Each leather piece is then thoroughly inspected to ensure it meets customer expectations and satisfaction.
I wet mold each cut of leather to achieve my listed custom tray sizes. By wet molding vegetable tanned leather will transform the leather, making it stiff allowing it to retain its shape indefinitely. Once the leather has dried, I carefully cut the molded tray to ensure its unique depth.
